Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)-based services and supports for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders is a joint partnership between Thames Valley Children’s Centre (TVCC) and John McGivney Children’s Centre (JMCC). Providing a collaborative process to support children and youth with a confirmed ASD diagnosis, by offering consultation and training for parents/care givers and community providers and group-based services for children an d youth with ASD. This service focuses a priority goal in one of four areas of development: communication, social/interpersonal, daily living and behaviour management/emotional regulation using ABA strategies. Services are available to purchase.Whether you are a parent/caregiver of a child or youth with ASD, or a community; you can purchase ABA-based services and supports.

Avenues:
The Avenues Program helps adults with developmental disabilities by providing a flexible support. This service is provided by Family Services Windsor Essex. Through this program, families receive personalized human resources and financial support for people with individualized funding or Passport funds. Staff from Family Services Windsor Essex help families to recruit Direct Support providers. There are fees for this program.

Canadian Hearing Society
The Canadian Hearing Society helps to remove barriers to communication, advance hearing health, and promote equity for people who are culturally deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing. The services offered through the Canadian Hearing Society, include: sign language interpreting; one-on-one language development for deaf and hard of hearing children using play as the medium of learning; employment consulting; sign language instruction; speech reading training; hearing testing; hearing aids; counselling; and, the most complete range of communication devices that assist and augment communication, including TTYs (text telephones), visual smoke detectors, baby monitors, signaling devices and alarm clocks.

Children First
Children First provides services to families with children birth to six years of age who have special needs. These needs may include developmental and mental health challenges, which may be multiple and complex. Children First workers will visit children and families in their homes, in licensed childcare centres, and in other early childhood settings in Windsor and Essex County.

Community Living Essex County
In-home support, respite care, coordination of services, and advocacy are provided to families with a family member who has an intellectual disability to meet their specific needs. An accessible transportation system and a resource library are also available. Funds for summer programming may be available to those who qualify. Community Living Essex County provides supports and services to over 600 people who have an intellectual disability and their families in Essex County. The role of Community Living Essex County is to support new possibilities for people who have an intellectual disability that leads to a better life, to promote empowerment and to create new opportunities for building an inclusive community.

Computers for Kids
This program transforms unwanted computers and electronics that have been donated from the community into educational tools for children in need so that all children have equal access to computers, regardless of social or economic status. Family Respite Services Windsor-Essex
FRS works in partnership with families who have children with disabilities. Ronald McDonald House
A Ronald McDonald House is a ‘home-away-from-home’, a temporary residential facility where families of seriously ill children can reside while their children receive treatment. Families who use the London House have children mainly in the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario and St. Joseph’s Health Centre. The children receiving treatment must be 18 years of age or under.
